The Pricey Potatoes Taking Social Media By Storm

The restaurant known for their lavish dishes Serendipity has worked their magic to break another world record for the most expensive french fries in the world.

The classic fast-food staple is getting a glamourous makeover by one restaurant offering decadent french fries costing $200 per plate. This pricey potato dish can be found at the legendary restaurant known for expensive dishes that holds multiple Guinness World Records, Serendipity 3.

Serendipity is known for having record-breaking menu items, including the most expensive ice cream sundae priced at $1,000 and the most expensive burger priced at $295. The infamous restaurant is breaking another world record for the world’s most expensive fries in the world as of July 13.

How could a simple side of fries be worth $200? The answer lies in the rare and expensive ingredients incorporated in the dish. The menu features the Crème de la Crème Pommes Frites made with Chipperbec potatoes blanched in vinegar and Dom Pérignon champagne, then fried in pure goose fat twice.

The resulting fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside for what is described as a delicacy rather than a simple side dish. The fries are seasoned with rare ingredients, including truffle salt and truffle oil with a sprinkle of edible gold dust.

The Crème de la Crème Pommes Frites are served on a crystal plate with an orchid, thin-sliced truffles, a Mornay cheese dip, and a truffle-infused sauce. The Serendipity restaurant created the new decadent menu item to lure customers back to the restaurant after being closed for months in response to the global pandemic. It seems this strategy is working as the restaurant currently has a 10-week waitlist simply for the fries.
